Exactly where you are
I wanted to share this poem, "Singing Bowl" by Malcolm Guite, I saw this poem which was shared by another minister which resonated with me. It speaks to the essence of acceptance and calmness, urging us to start right where we are, without judgment. The imagery of the singing bowl, with its deep, resonant chime, reminds me to embrace the present moment fully, to breathe deeply, and to find the richness in what may seem like emptiness. It’s a powerful reminder that peace and purpose can emerge when we slow down, listen, and allow ourselves to be in harmony with the world as it is.
‘Singing Bowl’
by Malcolm Guite
Begin the song exactly where you are,
Remain within the world of which you’re made.
Call nothing common in the earth or air,
Accept it all and let it be for good.
Start with the very breath you breathe in now,
This moment’s pulse, this rhythm in your blood
And listen to it, ringing soft and low.
Stay with the music, words will come in time.
Slow down your breathing. Keep it deep and slow.
Become an open singing-bowl, whose chime
Is richness rising out of emptiness,
And timelessness resounding into time.
And when the heart is full of quietness
Begin the song exactly where you are.
With Love,
